Butterflies

Welcome to our Butterfly room. Once all the children have arrived, we then do our wake up shake up (dancing and movement play).

All our planned activities are following the guidance of the EYFS with the enhancement to let each child thrive in their development. We have adult led activities throughout the day for the children to pick and choose if they wish to join in. We have a vast selection of activities set up in the room, for the children to access, some of these activities included are threading, messy play, jigsaws, stories and going to our sensory room.

The children are offered snacks twice throughout the day. After snack we have key group time which could be anything from a messy play activity to a story in a small group with the children’s key worker. We encourage our children to brush their teeth and wash their hands to support health and self-care.

We have a nice outdoor area and we try to play outside in all weathers so please make sure you have appropriate clothing at nursery. We share with parents on a weekly basis what their child has been doing at nursery by emailing them one of the observations, which has pictures and a description of what they were doing.

We hope to see you soon joining our Butterfly team!

Our Learning this term:

Last term we welcomed our butterflies back into nursery, we have 12 new children that have joined us, and they are all settled in well.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, we independently decorated our cards, using glue and sequins, we also planted some bulbs to grow at home for our mums/carers. The children enjoyed planting so much we continued this out into our garden, we have planted some Hydrangea’s and Pansies. They children have enjoyed watering them.

For Easter we had our first decorate an egg competition. We had some fantastic entries, and would like to thank all parents/carers for taking part.

We hope you all have a lovely Easter break and we look forward to seeing you all on the 19th April.
