'Unlocking Potential'

Why Us?

We think our website is fantastic and is designed to give you a flavour of the vibrant life of our school and the quality education that we strive to deliver. We believe that our website is an essential tool in celebrating the incredible activities that take place at our wonderful school. It is also a vital tool in communicating with parents, carers and visitors, as well as providing information about the various policies, practices and procedures in our school. We hope that you find the information useful. If you require further information about any aspect of our website, please do not hesitate to contact us.

High expectations permeate throughout our school, and we truly believe in quality, dedication and aspirational thinking in all areas of our establishment. We believe in our children and their futures and encourage them to strive for greatness through self-belief and determination.

When any visitor tours our school they comment on the happy, inquisitive children who are engaged in their learning in a calm, stimulating environment. We are all immensely proud of our school and are committed to providing the very best possible education for all of our children. We hope that you see our creative approach to education through the pupils’ work.

We believe that our school is a fantastic place to be, but don't just take it from us...

This is what our children think...

What our Chair of Governors thinks...

I would recommend Castleton to any parent who is looking for a school that will support, develop and nurture their child. All children are respected and treated as individuals, talents are quickly recognised and developed. Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive excellent support from a specialist team who ensure a personalised programme is put in place so that any barriers to learning do not stop them from reaching their full potential.
The staff, under the guidance of the dedicated and professional Senior Leadership Team, are committed to ensuring that each child in the school reaches their full potential, no-one is left behind. They constantly review their practice and undergo regular professional development training to ensure teaching and learning is at least good if not outstanding.
The curriculum is broad and balanced with an outstanding level of enrichment including sporting, musical, cultural and creative experiences both in and out of school. Each year group has an annual planned programme of out of school experiences and from Year 4 upwards this includes residentials. the school owns two minibuses so the cost of trips is kept to a minimum.
I assure you, your child will have the time of their life if you choose Castleton for them.
