Year 2
Tropical World
Year 2 visited Tropical World to support their learning in science and habitats. During the visit, the children learned about contrasting habitats and the humid environments needed for some animals to survive. They explored how animals are suited to their environments by visiting a range of habitats, including rainforests, deserts, and native woodland. In the woodland area, the children used their scientific skills to investigate what makes up this habitat and to discover which animals live there.
Filey
In Year 2, we began our seaside topic with an exciting day trip to Filey, a seaside town on the east coast of England. We set off early in the minibuses, ready for a day of exploration and discovery. The children explored the coastline, looking for differences between the city and the coast, and learning more about the seaside environment. Despite the busy schedule, there was still time for a paddle in the sea, and no visit to the seaside would be complete without enjoying a delicious ice cream!
Thackray Medical Museum
As part of their history topic, Year 2 learn all about Florence Nightingale. This learning is brought to life during their visit to Thackray Medical Museum, where the children have the exciting opportunity to meet Florence Nightingale and deepen their understanding of her life and work.
