Whole School Curriculum Map
The curriculum at Castleton Primary School stems from the National Curriculum for England. When planning our curriculum, Castleton Primary has considered the diverse needs of both our pupils and families. We comply with the Equality Act 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014. We want learning to be meaningful, memorable and worthwhile so that our pupils are ready for the next step in their journey. Staff have drawn on each others' expertise and experience and have researched teaching methods that we know to be successful with our children. After consultation with staff, we reflected on what our curriculum offer would look like to a child in our school. We believe that our approach will create well-rounded, life long learners who are prepared for the challenges and adventures that await them throughout their lives. We aim to ensure children have memorable visits and experiences during their time at Castleton Primary School - through way of visitors, workshops, trips and residentials, we strive to make our children's learning meaningful, memorable and worthwhile. We feel the curriculum and experiences that come with life Castleton Primary School get the best out of our children and make them as ready as they can be for the next steps in their education and lives.
